SURFACE COATINGS TECHNOLOGY E-LEARNING COURSE

The Surface Coatings Association Australia (SCAA) has been the provider of technical education to the coatings industry for many years, largely via classroom-based courses, and mainly in Sydney and Melbourne.  But today, not everyone has the flexibility in their time nor in their location to attend such courses.
To meet these needs, the SCAA has developed its Certificate of Surface Coatings Technology course into a self-paced, e-learning format.  The development was assisted by the Australian Paint Manufacturers’ Federation, and with contributory funding by the NSW Department of Education and Training.  SCAA is delighted to have its program delivered in partnership with RMIT Training.

Course fee and application

The course fee is A$2,500 (for students who are not SCAA members), and A$1,750 for SCAA members.  These fees are GST exempt (in Australia).  The course is designed for entry level technologists in the paint, ink or coatings related industries.  It comprises 49 lessons of self-paced computer-based learning over 12-18 months.  Click here for further details and application for admission to the course

NEW BURSARIES FOR E-LEARNING COURSE

SCAA is delighted to announce the release of three $1,000 Bursaries to assist Australian students with the cost of enrolling in the SCAA Certificate of Surface Coatings Technology by e-Learning. Applications for the Bursaries close on 30 September 2010.  To view the application form:  Click here

To apply, fill in the form and e-mail to the Chair of the SCAA Technical Education Committee at this address:  Click here

Bursary winners will pay a reduced fee upon enrolling in the course and SCAA will make up the difference with the $1,000 Bursary.

The Bursary had been made possible by a generous donation of residual funds from the Paint Manufacturing Industry Superannuation Scheme. In winding up the scheme the trustees sought to make a lasting contribution to improve the education and training of Australian workers, especially those embarking upon a career in our industry. The trustees included representatives from the APMF and the LHMU.
