For Education and Research
The trust was set up in 1995 to foster projects of an educational and/or research nature considered worthy of support by our Association. The trust holds the surplus funds generated by Association activities over the last 40 years as loans from the various Association committees. This centralized investment account generates interest to conduct projects such as scholarships.
The Trust has already established permanent scholarships at the University of New South Wales and Ian Wark Institute in South Australia which are awarded on an annual basis to a student undertaking studies in an area consistent with the Association’s Aim and Objects.
In addition to the financial side, the Trust maintains an Honour Roll for the recognition of deceased members who have made an outstanding contribution to the Association. This is not awarded easily as it is intended that inclusion on the Honour Roll be reserved for recognition of exemplary service.
