For Education and Research
The trust was set up in 1995 to foster projects of an educational and/or research nature considered worthy of support by our Association. The trust was financed through surpluses from the Association’s various Committees. This centralised investment account generates interest to provide scholarships to support research in the coatings industry. The Trust is run by a Committee comprising representatives from each State where SCAA is active and the Committee reports to the SCAA Board.
The Trust has already established permanent scholarships at the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney, Curtin University, and the Ian Wark Institute in South Australia which are awarded on an annual basis to a student undertaking studies in an area consistent with the Association's Aim and Objects.
Honour Roll
In addition to the financial side, the Trust maintains an Honour Roll for the recognition of deceased members who have made an outstanding contribution to the Association. This is not awarded easily as it is intended that inclusion on the Honour Roll be reserved for recognition of exemplary service.
